I had a UK to Belgium relocation recently. Hired two LUTON trucks from AFS Removals Ltd. and and paid them also for the drivers-helpers a huge extra charge. The total was £3000. The drivers, because of the deliberately poor handling, carrying of my belongings caused significant damages to my carefully packed boxes, caused harm to the furniture (including delicate ones) some pieces were totally destroyed. No kidding. This company hires cheap, unprofessional workers (possibly untrained) that are not taking any responsibility after their services are fully paid. Even if you decide to hire AFS Movers Ltd. never pay them before the your property unloading completed and condition is checked. Claiming back the damage-compensation is challenging and so far no result at all.
We had a horrendous experience moving with AFS removals. They stepped in at the last minute to replace our movers. They refused to carry things upstairs as they were 'too heavy', damaged the majority of our furniture. They were rude. In the end I asked the to stop the job as they kept shouting at me and my partner and everything was getting damaged, so they locked our belongings in their van and tried to drive off. They pulled furniture along the ground at our old house causing damage to the flooring which we now have to pay to fix and damage to our new home. We ended up paying another removals company to finish the job. We have complained, sent emails and photos of the damage, called. They have ignored everything despite telling me on the phone they had insurance to cover damage. All in they absolutely ruined our moving day.
Highly recommended, the driver, Amin, has been very nice and helpful, he is also professional and really flexible. They do short notices as well for affordable fee. Try them guys.????????????
