Very much enjoyed the food here. Good amount of meat, loads of options, nice potatoes and the sauces were good too, although the chimichurri was too spicy for my liking. Nothing absolutely blew me away but if was a very pleasant meal and I would come back I was in the area. Very spacious inside, not too noisy and a nice outside area too.
Walked by on a Saturday evening after a long day of touring. Was delighted that the had openings at a high top for dinner. Even more delighted that they had a happy hour. Two drinks for £15 I believe. We had multiple servers for our meal. We ordered a steak that he loved. Came with a salad and potatoes. I have a califlower steak and even though I don't remember the sides per day I do know it was delicious. The food came quickly. The environment especially outside is beautiful but a little chilly for the evening that night. Stop by this one if you are in the area.
Went here for Sunday lunch. It’s wasn’t busy. They have an outdoor and indoor seating areas. Outdoor has heaters for colder months. Roast lamb was £22. Service was good and toilets were spotless. It’s a bit on the expensive side here and they also add on gratuity to the bill rather than making that an optional addition and the happy hour cocktails is only for a select few cocktails, hence only 4 stars.
Dropped by here for Sunday lunch and had high hopes as the location is central and interior is lovely. With the exception of the front of house staff, the service wasn’t great at all. The roast was quite tasty but the veg and Yorkshire pudding was cold and left an oily residue. For a £25 roast dinner, I’d have expected better. Asked for drinks a few times to various staff and when we did the waiter had no clue and looked at me blankly when I asked for a lemonade and then brought me slices of lemon. However, we got charged for it plus 12.5% discretionary service which I asked to be removed. When we received the bill we got the card machine shoved in our face immediately. Just really awkward and uncomfortable and we didn’t stay for long. I usually don’t give bad reviews or complain at all but felt this experience was pretty disappointing so wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.
Unfortunately they had ran out of beef and lamb by 4pm so if going for a Sunday roast I suggest you go and eat early, but what we did have (chicken and pork) was delicious and plenty of it. We also had a Camembert to share for two for starters which was delicious. Needed a bit more green veg but we got plenty of meat to make up for it and some left over to being home. Yummy bottle of house red and great value for money
